Put-in-Bay and Ohio State Route 357
South Bass Island, better known by the name of the village that inhabits a portion of it, Put-in-Bay, sits in Lake Erie 5 miles off of the Ohio mainland. It’s also the home of Ohio State Route 357, one of two routes in the state on islands and not connected with the rest of the state highway system. The other is Route 575 on nearby Kelleys Island.
A short ferry ride from Cawtaba Island (and the terminus of Ohio Route 53) brings you to Put-in-Bay.
